Staff engaged in manual handling tasks are required to receive training in assessment of loads and how to lift and handle loads safely.
There is a wide variety of manual handling tasks: our content may not cover all situations.
Our open course includes both instruction and practical training.
Who should attend?
Any person who is involved in manual handling in the workplace and wants to learn how to conduct a personal risk assessment and move and handle loads safely.
A practical and highly participative approach is used throughout the course. When theoretical material is introduced, it’s related to relevant manual handling tasks encountered by employees in the course of their work. The focus is on actual situations with realistic solutions.
Course Certificate / Validation
The certificate in Basic Manual Handling is valid for 3 years.
It is issued by an instructor who is registered with FETAC as a Manual Handling Instructor (link).
