NISO Midlands July 26 : Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety course presentation of certs Spring 2026 course
NISO Midland branch held their presentation of certificates for the NISO Certificate in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work courses in the Hodson Bay hotel in Athlone on Friday 19 June 2026.
Two courses were hosted by TUS Athlone between September and December 2025 and again between February and May 2026. Twenty-six participants successfully completed the course. These included people from Westmeath, Offaly, Galway, Longford, Cavan, Laois, Roscommon, Limerick, Cork and Tipperary.
Successful participants included employees from the Hodson Bay group, Athlone and Galway; ABP group, Nenagh and Rathkeale; Westmeath, Offaly and Laois County Councils; Ward and Burke Ltd., Galway; Wilton Group, Co Cavan; MWP Engineering, Blackrock, Co Cork; HSE, Co Roscommon; Nua Healthcare group, Co Kildare; Clonmel Enterprises, Naas, Co Kildare and William Grant Distillery, Tullamore.
Each participant received their Certificate from Minister Boxer Moran. Martin Whyte and Philip Henehan represented NISO Midlands along with Sean Reidy, (TUS and Chairperson of NISO Midlands). There was a presentation to Ms Maureen O’Brien (ex NISO Midlands Secretary) who is stepping back from the position on the committee.
A number of the participants are advancing onto the part-time Level 7 degree in EHS Management in the autumn in TUS. To book a place on the NISO course contact NISO at niso.ie or the book a place on the BSc in EHS Management check out the TUS website under part-time courses.
