The 22nd Annual National Irish Safety Organisation / Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISO/NISG) Safety Awards, took place on 4 October 2013 at a special ceremony in Galway which also was celebrating the 50th anniversary of NISO. The supreme safety award winner for 2013 was announced as GE Healthcare.
The Supreme Safety Award is presented to the organisation which showed a number of years of consistently good or continuously improving health and safety performance and an outstanding contribution to occupational safety, health and welfare during the previous year. The Awards are highly valued and regarded among health and safety professionals throughout the island of Ireland.
Other awards presented on the night included the safety representative and construction innovation awards. The Safety Representative of the Year Award 2013, in association with Nifast, was awarded to Deirdre Rooney of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cruiserath. The Small / Sub Contractor, Safety Innovation Award 2012, in association with the Construction Safety Partnership (CSP), was awarded to Rose Construction.
