Consultation on ISO 45001

The National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) has today published the draft ISO 45001 standard on its website nsai.ie. ISO 45001, Occupational health and safety management systems – Requirements, will provide organisations with a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions, all over the world. Organisations who hold OHSAS 18001 will have to migrate to the ISO 45001 standard.
Stakeholders have up until 30 June 2017 to have their say on the draft standards and can submit comments on nsai.ie. Interested parties can also attend the NSAI ISO 450001 Workshop in Santry on 12 June. Following the workshop the NSAI will review any comments or contributions to the draft.
There will be a further meeting of the ISO committee in September following which, if the outcome of the meeting is positive, the approved version of the ISO 45001 will be published in later 2017 or early 2018.
