John GRAHAM Construction Ltd. wins All Ireland Supreme Safety Awards 2025
The 34th National Irish Safety Organisation / Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISO/NISG) Annual Safety Awards took place on 10 October 2025 at a special ceremony in Killarney at which the Supreme Safety Award winner for 2025, sponsored by Irving Oil Whitegate Refinery, was announced as John GRAHAM Construction Ltd.
The Supreme Safety Award is presented to the organisation that has shown consistently good or continuously improving health and safety performance over a number of years and an outstanding contribution to occupational safety, health and welfare during the previous year. The Awards are highly valued and regarded among health and safety professionals throughout the island of Ireland.
Other awards presented on the night include the Safety Representative of the Year Award 2025 in association with The Cpl Institute. The winner of the Safety Representative of the Year Award for 2025 was Fiona McVeigh, King and Moffatt Building Services. The Runner Up prize was awarded to Sinead Morrissey, Bon Secours Hospital Dublin.
The Healthy Workplace Award, sponsored by Healthy Ireland, was won by BnM (Bord na Móna).
The Healthy Workplace Award recognises the commitment of workplaces who promote health and wellbeing as a core element of the Health and Safety agenda.
The Occupational Health Award, supported by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) was won by Boston Scientific Galway.
The Occupational Health Award is designed for organisations who demonstrate clear evidence that they manage a clear and proactively structured occupational health programme for their employees.
The Driving for Work Award was won by Leo Lynch. The Driving for Work Award requires entrants to demonstrate evidence of policy, planning, practice, performance measurement and performance review in relation to driving for work.
The awards, which demonstrate the positive and proactive culture of safety management in organisations, are supported by the Construction Industry Federation, Health and Safety Authority, Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland, Healthy Ireland and Irving Oil Whitegate Refinery.
The 61st Annual NISO Health and Safety Conference, which preceded the safety awards ceremony, was sponsored by Safety Direct (Main Sponsor); Blåkläder, DEKRA, EHS International, FlexManager, Glenveagh Properties plc, Occupli and Winthrop Technologies Ltd. (Gold Plus Sponsors); DB Schenker (Gold Sponsor); Jones Engineering Group (Silver Plus Sponsor), and GMC Facilities Management (Bronze Sponsor).
Mark Cullen, Interim CEO, Health and Safety Authority along with Fergal McKevitt, NISO President and Wendy Moore, Chair, NISG, presented awards to over 100 organisations from all around the island of Ireland. The Gold Award was won by John Paul Construction, the Silver Award by BnM (Bord na Móna) and the Bronze Award by Coffey.
Six President’s Awards were presented on the night to the following organisations: Leo Lynch, John Cradock Ltd., Cork City Council, Glenveagh Properties PLC, SK Biotek Ireland Limited and Intel Ireland Veolia Operations Team.
The Excellence in Safety Award, which is presented to organisations that consistently achieved a high standard safety award for more than fifteen years, representing their continuous commitment to health and safety in their organisation, was won by Actavo Ireland, Fingal County Council, John Sisk and Son (Holdings) Ltd., Jones Engineering Group and PM Group.
A number of Exceptional High Achiever awards were presented to organisations that consistently achieved a high standard safety award for more than ten years, representing their continuous commitment to health and safety in their organisation. Recipients of this award include AirNav Ireland, Altrad Services Ireland, Aura Holohan Group, BAM Ireland, Bon Secours Hospital Dublin, Coffey, Collen Construction Ltd., Cork City Council, Cork County Council, Dornan Engineering Ltd., GEA Process Technologies Ireland Ltd., GMC Utilities Group Ltd., ISS Facility Services, John Cradock Ltd., John GRAHAM Construction Ltd., John Paul Construction, Leo Lynch, LMC FM, Longford County Council, Merit Medical Ireland Ltd., MSL Engineering Ltd., O’Connor Sutton Cronin, P&D Lydon Ltd., Specialist Technical Services – STS Group, Suir Engineering Ltd., W & H Alexander Ltd, Walls Construction Limited, Weltec Engineering Ltd., Vantive Manufacturing Ltd.
Supported by the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), the construction category awards saw the following organisations emerge as winners: the President’s Award for Construction was won by Leo Lynch; Building Services Award, Dornan Engineering Ltd.: Utility Services Award, Surecom Network Solutions Ltd.; Specialist Contactor Award, Mivan Ltd.; House Building Award, Cairn; Civil Engineering Award, Adman Civil Projects Ltd.; Consulting Engineers Award, McAdam Design Ltd.; Industrial / Commercial Award, Flynn.; Specialist Contractor Award, Mivan Ltd., and the Mineral Extraction / Quarrying / Concrete Manufacturing Award was won by AG Paving & Building Products Ltd.
